SASH Ministries is inspired by the call of Christ in Matthew 4 to, “Come, follow me.” The phrase, “Living a Life of Discipleship,” is a short way of expressing a big message! Discipleship should not be a rung on a ladder that you climb to and then climb past. It is not something that we achieve and then move on from; rather, discipleship is a way of life. It is a lifetime journey towards Heaven, a striving for holiness, a relationship with Jesus. Acts 2:42 says that those who were baptized, “. . . devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
At Sacred Heart, we want to foster an environment for youth and young adults to grow in their relationship with Jesus by following this model. SASH Ministries offers youth and young adults an opportunity to learn about the Catholic faith in a fun and uplifting environment. We have formation(apostles’ teaching), times of fun, games, and hanging out as a community, as well as acts of service (fellowship), times to go to Mass and Confession together (breaking of bread), and times of prayer (prayers). All of these aspects are critical to a life of discipleship, but the most important aspect is a growing relationship with Christ.
